Top interesting facts about cinema and films – most filmed stories, symbol of Hollywood history and more…

A well-known symbol of Hollywood was placed in 1923, but the most interesting thing is that it was created to promote the freshly quarters of Los Angeles, and now is in fact the hallmark of the world of cinema. Originally inscription looked like Hollywoodland, and it was expected that it will last for only two years.

One of the most famous among the first color film was “Gone with the Wind”, released in 1939 in the United States. After that, much time has passed before color films were able to oust the black-and-white, this happened only in 60-70s.
Among the most filmed stories are such as “Cinderella”, which was filmed 95 times including voluntary options, “Hamlet” and “Carmen”. The last two are far behind, they were filmed for 56 times.
The most popular character in the movie world is Sherlock Holmes, whose character has been implemented by 75 performers in 211 films, the second place have the Count Dracula with a score of 160 films, and the third – Frankenstein with 115 films. The top five also got Tarzan and Zorro.

Year 1922 took an important place in the history of cinema, because this year in Berlin for the first time was shown a film with sound. However, the birthday of the sound film is considered to be 6 October 1927 with the release of the film “The Jazz Singer”, as previous versions had too small replicas, with an emphasis on music.
At the beginning of the last century, the world’s leader in film production was France – by 1910 there were filmed 70 percent of world cinema. Most of the films of that time were a 15-minute, though in 1910 more and more 1-hour movies became to appear.
1895 can be considered as a year of the invention of device, which started the cinema era – that year it was shown by the Lumiere brothers. The device was able to film and the projection of moving pictures, and the first movie was the documentary scenes from the life of the time.

In the 1920s in the United States already began the formation of the film industry in the form in which it works today. Godfather and the angel of the Hollywood product is a producer. Standard scheme starts with finding of the scenario by the producer, then he purchase the loved one. Further producer invites the director and agrees the cast that, if there are sufficient funds, chosen from the already beloved by audience performers, so-called “stars”. Charlie Chaplin was among the most successful producers of the 1920s.
Despite the fact that the world center of the cinematograph is hollywood, superiority in the number of films produced per year firmly holds its namesake – Bollywood. The average number of releases per year in India is about 750 films, which means that every day there comes 2 films.

Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London is a remarkable building with a remarkable history.

1. Reconstruction. The building that currently stands in London is a replica built from traditional materials and techniques. The original building was demolished to make way for tenements in 1644.

2. The Globe Theatre was stolen. The building originally started life on the opposite side of the River Thames and was simply called The Theatre. After a row over land leases and ownership, the building was stolen and rebuilt across the river – this time with the name The Globe. 3. 3,000 Spectators. The Wooden O, is it became known, could host 3,000 spectators in its 100 foot diameter.

4. Open Air. The Globe was an open air theatre experience and therefore exposed to the awful English weather! Productions are still performed in open air today.

5. William Shakespeare was a shareholder. As an astute businessman, the young Shakespeare bought shares in the theatre and benefited financially when his popularity grew.
